Brett is an animal advocate and citizen lobbyist who volunteers her time for several animal welfare and political organizations including Humane PA, the Humane Society of the United States, the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, Organizing for America and the Cumberland County Democratic Committee. She is the Central PA Director for Humane PA and volunteers her services to members who would like to meet with elected officials in Harrisburg and the surrounding Central PA communities.
She has lobbied on behalf of animal welfare legislation at the state capitol in Harrisburg and is a volunteer for PA’s Humane Lobby Day. She has also lobbied for federal animal welfare legislation at the Capitol in Washington, DC participating in HSUS’ Humane Lobby Days.
Brett has been a volunteer fundraiser for more than 20 years and for the past 10 years has served on the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area’s Fur Ball Committee and was co-chair for its recent Centennial Celebration. As a grass roots political activist she volunteers her time for the local Democratic Party working on numerous local, state and presidential campaigns. Brett lives in Camp Hill with her husband Tom, two dogs and five cats, all rescues. Their daughter, Alexandra, resides in Washington, DC . She has also fostered, rescued and adopted numerous animals from shelters and rescues in PA.
Brett has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Penn State and studied Community Advocacy at George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management.
