The Primary Election will take place Tuesday, June 2nd. A primary election is used to narrow the field of candidates and it sets the stage for the general election on Tuesday, November 3rd.
For the Primary, Humane PA only issues recommendations in contested party races (meaning that more than one candidate per party is running in the primary).
Humane PA members want to know who to vote for, so we give candidates in contested primary races the opportunity to complete a survey questionnaire on legislative issues of interest to our members to be considered for a primary election recommendation, but this is not and does not guarantee an endorsement in the general election. A good voting record from an incumbent will generally guarantee them a recommendation. General election endorsements will be posted in the fall. Candidates – please note – check back in the fall to verify whether or not you are endorsed in the general election.
NOTE: Only districts with more than one candidate per party (contested primaries) are listed below. Competitive primary races with no recommendation are listed as either ” Contested race – no survey” or “No recommendation” (please see “Methodology” below for clarification); and in the case of two new candidates with no previous voting record, but perfect surveys, there may be a double recommendation.
