2026 General Election Endorsements.
It is clear that Pennsylvanians care about animals, and our endorsement page is one of the most visited pages on our website. Voters are looking to see where candidates stand and who will help move animal protection legislation forward. Too many priority bills remain stalled in Harrisburg, including bills to end live pigeon shoots, prohibit wildlife trafficking and take a bite out of puppy mills. Electing legislators who will champion these protections is essential to turning public concern into meaningful change.
How We Choose Our Endorsements:
Humane PA’s endorsement process is thoughtful and deliberate. We evaluate incumbents based on their voting records and leadership on animal protection, giving particular weight to legislators who sponsor priority bills and work to advance them. We also review candidate questionnaires, conduct follow-up conversations, and consult with government affairs professionals to understand who is helping move legislation forward and who may be blocking it. Member feedback is an important part of this process, offering insight into candidates’ positions and commitments.
Our goal is to advance strong animal protection laws by supporting candidates who will lead on these issues. We encourage voters who care about animals to consider our endorsements when deciding whom to support. Only endorsed districts are listed. Double endorsements may be made in open-seat races when both candidates demonstrate strong commitments to animal protection, submit strong surveys, and neither has an incumbent legislative record to evaluate.
P.S. Candidates: If you did not receive our endorsement survey or missed the deadline, you can complete the Humane PA candidate survey here. Late submissions are welcome, but we cannot guarantee consideration for a 2026 endorsement.
